Effective September 2026. MsgFileViewer provides a free, browser-based viewer for Outlook .msg email files, using the open-source msgreader parsing library running entirely on your device.
This tool uses a community, reverse-engineered open-source parser for Microsoft's proprietary CFBF/MAPI .msg format — it is not built, licensed, or endorsed by Microsoft, and does not use Microsoft's own reference implementation. It aims for broad compatibility across common .msg files but cannot guarantee correct parsing of every variant produced by every version of Outlook or Exchange, especially unusual, very old, or corrupted files.
Results are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any decisions made, or actions taken, based on the content displayed, or for any file that fails to parse correctly.
Don't scrape, resell, or misrepresent the service. Don't use it to attempt to access or exfiltrate data you are not authorized to view — this tool only reads files you choose to open on your own device.
